How the Elementary After-School Tutoring Began:
Miriam was struggling in her kindergarten class. Her mother had been taking ESL classes at CIANA and asked if there was anyone to help her daughter. A volunteer, Irma, offered to tutor her. Miriam came to CIANA every week to work with Irma, and before long, she was thriving! Word began to spread and soon other parents asked us to help their children succeed. Thus, in early 2013, the Elementary After-School Tutoring Program was born. Happily CIANA has been able to recruit many volunteer tutors, and today the program is fully established, runs year-round, and enrollment is always full.

Our goal:
The Leveled Library costs just over $5,000. We’d also love to give our younger children's play area a makeover. New children's furniture, plus an upgrading of our toys and educational materials, and the bookshelves where they are kept, would make an enormous difference. Our goal for this campaign is $8,000. With your help, we can make it happen!
The Campaign:
This holiday season, in addition to the necessities, we would like to add something special to our Elementary After-School Tutoring Program: a Leveled Books Classroom Library for our elementary-aged children. The library helps students become successful and enthusiastic readers with specially selected books for every reading level. Our elementary-aged children benefit greatly from our tutoring and developmental programs. Help us improve and strengthen the elementary school program by donating today!

What a fantastic couple of weeks it's been! We are so pleased to post the latest progress for our campaign, because it shows just how close we are to our goal. Thank you to each and every one of you who has donated, shared, and helped in any way. Because of your gifts, not only will we be able to get the leveled library, but we're well on our way to
a full makeover of our activities area!

We've crossed the halfway mark! We are officially more than halfway to our goal of $8,000. This means we are only a few donations away from our Leveled Books Classroom Library! Almost Halfway There!
Only one week into the campaign, and already we are almost halfway to our goal! Thanks to some big donors over the last couple of days, on top of our HUGE Giving Tuesday, our upgrades to the Elementary School Tutoring program are within reach. We are thrilled and deeply grateful for the response we've gotten so far. Only a few weeks to go!
