This year, CIANA celebrates 20 years of serving New York’s immigrant community!

On July 28, 2006, the Center for the Integration of New Americans, Inc. (CIANA) was officially incorporated as a nonprofit organization!

Since then, we have stood by immigrants as they have been separated from loved ones, had their legal protections stripped away, and become targets of the federal government. We have helped our clients improve their English, learn to use technology, and navigate New York City’s complex web of social services and public benefits. We have celebrated with clients as they scheduled their first ever doctor’s appointment, got their first job, and eventually became U.S. citizens.

While CIANA understands the struggles immigrants face on a daily basis, we have witnessed incredible resilience and dedication to achieving full integration and living the American Dream. Throughout the various existential threats immigrant communities have faced– post 9/11 Islamophobia, the termination of DACA, COVID, ICE raids, mass deportations, economic downturns, etc., our communities have always come back stronger than before. We feel immense gratitude to our immigrant communities for allowing us to help them along their journey.

Our past, present, and future are secured by support from our community members and allies whose financial support ensures new Americans have access to the resources they need to thrive in their new country.
