CIANA helps new immigrants acquire basic English language skills in order to advocate for their families, achieve their personal and professional goals, and prepare for citizenship and civic participation. CIANA’s adult ESL and civics classes are vital to the community, most of whom are low income and heavily rely on CIANA being able to provide these courses. The classes are free for students and enrollment is rolling.

Across the United States, adult ESL and civics classes are in high demand. Of the 43.7 million adult learners in the U.S. who are identified as having Low English Proficiency, only 3.4% are served by state-run programs. Programs like CIANA’s, which combine English literacy with civics education, are currently only reaching 110,000 students across the whole country.
That is why CIANA needs your help to raise $20,000 as part of our Passport to Education campaign to continue to teach our students our civics-integrated ESL curriculum to set them up for integration and personal success.
