About CIANA
The Center for the Integration & Advancement of New Americans (CIANA) is a social services organization that works to integrate new immigrants from the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, Latin America, and West Africa into the socio-economic and civic life of American society while maintaining pride in their cultural heritage.

Position Description
CIANA has been selected to implement a project funded by the NYC Community Engagement Commission (CEC), via The People’s Money - Citywide Participatory Budgeting (PB). Through the 2025-2026 PB process, the residents of Queens neighborhoods identified and selected a project called "Pathways to A Successful College Career." CIANA applied to implement this project, focusing on implementing bilingual workshops for students and parents/caregivers to educate about college options, advise on what students can do at each grade level to prepare, support with direct college applications, and inform families about financial aid options and processes.

The plan includes three phases:

Preparation Phase from Oct-Dec 2025 (conduct needs and stakeholder assessment, and refine project plan), an

Implementation Phase from Jan-Oct 2026 (designing and implementing the workshops and mentoring),and
-
Evaluation Phase from Apr-Oct 2026 (measuring the impact of the project).​
This project will be implemented in and target residents of the designated “TRIE Neighborhoods” in Queens who requested and voted for this project, which are Corona, Elmhurst, East Elmhurst, Queensbridge, and Dutch Kills (11368, 11369, and 11101 zip codes).

CIANA is seeking to hire a person who can demonstrate as much of the below experiences and skills, along with capacity to learn

Bachelors Degree in Education or related field

Experience as teacher, educator, counselor, and/or advisor working with high school-age students

Demonstrated understanding of college readiness pathways for students and families at various age groups, income levels, and immigrant backgrounds

Strong preference for candidates who speak a language other than English,
-
Ability in project management, including work planning, program cycle management, research methods, and/or budget management
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to variety of audiences
-
Willingness and ability to travel to different locations in Queens and speak in public
-
Collaborative worker able to work as part of a team and also take initiative with minimal supervision
-
Experience with common software systems, such as Google Suite and Microsoft Office

$45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
